PIC Packaging engineer

building PIC packages from design to production

The role

  • Working together in the interdisciplinary PIC Packaging Business line, building PIC packages from design to production
  • You play a key role in the manufacturing and assembly of our products in our cleanroom. Your day-to-day activities consist roughly of:
    • The hands-on (semi-manual) assembly of PIC packages (60%)
    • Assembly of prototypes and fine-tuning of packaging processes for scaling up production (20%)
    • Execute, test, analyse and report on both incoming materials and final builds (10%)
    • Install (incl. programming) and maintain equipment and machinery to ensure product quality and minimize production downtime(10%)

You

  • Like the dynamics of a small, fast-moving company;
  • Have a passion for high tech and are willing to learn about our unique technology; 
  • Have affinity with micro-assemblies, photonics, electronics and/ or automation software; 
  • Have a stable pulse and like to carefully work with your hands 
  • Knows basic programming skills and preferable have used it for programming machines before;
  • Apply good practice of documentation, operational efficiency and quality control;
  • Are a clear communicator. You are able to simplify and translate complex concepts and like to work together with other disciplines on the best solutions.

  • Hold an Applied Science (HBO/ WO) degree in Mechanical/Physics/Electrical engineering with preferably a minimum of 3 years experience in a production or industrial environment;
  • Are living in The Netherlands, speaks English well and available to fully operate from our production facilities (Cleanroom) in Alkmaar.
