Researcher

Investigating, developing models and verifying how we can develop and produce reliable and robust sensing systems

The role

  • You are part of the Research team and bring and expand expertise when it comes to reliability assessment of PIC-based systems and optical fiber sensors. As reliability Researcher, you investigate, develop models and verify how we can develop and produce reliable and robust sensing systems, particularly for harsh environments such as in our aerospace focus market;
  • You are combining your conceptual model-based thinking with a pragmatic can-do approach;
  • Your day-to-day activities consist roughly of:
    • Study and documentation of relevant material and components (20%);
    • Conducting reliability experiments and failure analysis in the lab or field: test goal definition (model), setup arrangement, testing, data analysis and reporting (30%) ;
    • Develop calculations & simulations models and verify these with experiments on e.g. accelerated lifetime and environmental testing (20%);
    • Hands-on testing and qualification support in other teams: process analysis, verification. Contribute to product risk analyses and root-cause analyses (20%);
  • You’re regularly ‘in the field’: from discussing component information with suppliers/ partners or performing test campaigns in the field;
  • Work closely together with other Researchers and engineers with their expertise

You

  • Like the dynamics of a small- fast-moving and rapidly changing company;
  • Have a passion for high tech and are willing to learn about our unique technology;
  • Hold a Master’s degree in Physics, Mechanical or Material Science plus a minimum of 3-5 years relevant industry experience;
  • Are a clear communicator. You are able to simplify and translate complex concepts and like to work together with other disciplines on the best solutions.
  • Recognize yourself in our values: We are Tech Innovators, One Team, Proactive and we Make it Work.
